Keeping Up with Dog Shedding

I have seen different kinds of dog shedding. Most of them are normal, while some are way too much. There are several people that have been too scared that they stopped having dogs entirely, while mostly are too worried about the condition that their dogs have developed.

For the record, there is no such way to stop dog shedding. You can control it, but never stop it. What you need to do in this case is to make sure that you groom your dog well. You do this by giving your dog a bath regularly, and not just during summer. You need to make sure that your dog would at least have its bath once every two weeks, or if your dog is shedding a lot, better do it weekly.

Brushing is also an important thing to do and you must do this every day, especially to those breeds with thick coat. Unlike with humans, brushing or combing a dog’s coat’s main objective is to remove the dead hair within your dog’s coat.

If excessive dog shedding occurs, you might want to get him checked by a veterinarian because too much shedding can be a symptom for a much more serious disease.
